Paris Hilton's Explanation: I Thought the Cocaine Was Gum

When a little white baggie fell out of the purse she was carrying, Paris Hilton had an explanation for Las Vegas police. "She had not seen it but now thought it was gum,” said an officer's report. It turned out the baggie actually contained .8 grams of cocaine, and now Hilton faces felony drug-possession charges with a Oct. 27 arraignment.

While speaking to police following a weekend traffic stop, Hilton denied the baggie belonged to her. In fact, she said, the purse wasn't hers either; she had borrowed it from a friend. But somehow, according to Hilton, the contents of the purse were split between hers and the friend's.

She claimed ownership of a broken Albuterol pill, Zig Zag wrappers commonly used to smoke marijuana, $1,300 in cash and credit cards. But, "She said several cosmetic items inside the purse were not hers," according to the police report.

Dowler, 34, who is 6ft tall, has starred in several high-profile modelling campaigns and has modelled for Burberry, Paul Smith and Paco Rabanne.

A source told the News Of The World last month: 'They've been on lots of dates and get on really well. It's early days for them but they enjoy each other's company. 'Louis has a good sense of humour and really is a lovely guy. He loves to surf and he's really quite engaging and very down-to-earth. 'He's a good looking guy and gets lots of attention when he's out and about - but he's not your typical model. Not at all big-headed.'

Hayden Christensen & Rachel Bilson Call Off Engagement

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have officially ended their engagement.

Reports surfaced a couple months ago that the duo were on a break, but now the split is permanent. "Yes, the engagement is off," Bilson's rep tells PEOPLE, but declined to provide details on the breakup. Distance was reportedly one of the main reasons for the split. With Bilson primarily in L.A., and Christensen in Canada, "It just wasn't working out," says a pal of the actress.

Now Bilson is "focusing on her career, spending time with her family and just moving forward," adds the friend. Christensen, 29, and Bilson, 28, met on the set of Jumper in 2007, and got engaged in December of the following year.
